If you have installed the all dancing composite application sidebar Notes 8 Standard and upwards but you wish to test your application in Notes 8 Basic then you can launch Notes 8 Basic by launching nlnotes.exe .

You will find it usually in Windoze at  C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\NLNotes.exe

I usually add a shortcut.

It is also useful for quickly starting notes 8 when you are in a hurry. ;)

If you just miss ticking in the selection margin (or trough), you can do it that way as well. ; )
