I am hosting websites using my own server. To have domains and email redirected to my server using my server's IP address,  I have learnt how to create my own DNS records for name servers.

I am creating records on the free Public DNS system that is http://granitecanyon.com.

The records I create redirect mail and web pages requests to my server:

Here is a sample

tiddly.com. IN NS ns1.granitecanyon.com.
tiddly.com. IN NS ns2.granitecanyon.com.
tiddly.com. IN RP adam.mail.com. info.tiddly.com.
info.tiddly.com. IN TXT "Adam Foster NIC: AF4625"
localhost.tiddly.com. IN A 127.0.0.1
tiddly.com. IN A 217.35.92.234
*.tiddly.com. IN CNAME tiddly.com.; GLOBALOK
tiddly.com. IN MX 0 tiddly.com.; EXTREF

The 217.35.92.234 is the IP Address of my main server and you should change it to be

your server's IP address, or your domains will come to my server.

The MX record sorts out email.
