Mail Template Reverts back every weekend - the convert task

Hint Short Cut: Add this to your code & documentation to help you find this page.

I customised a Mail template for a company, and we piloted it with several users, every weekend the mail databases reverted back. I checked the template name and it had changed back to dwa7.ntf. The template was on both servers. The templates were fine, they had not been corrupted or reverted back themselves. What was the problem....

The problem was something left over from the conversion from 6.5 to 7.03 .

The admin at the time had set up a program on the server:

See NAB (name and address book) names.nsf  on the server -> Configuration -> Servers-> Programs

Program name: convert

Command line: -u mail\*.nsf * dwa7.ntf

Server to run on: sa1

Run at times: 18:00 each day

Repeat interval of: 0 minutes

Day of week: Fri

Naughty admin. This should have beeen disabled after the successful conversion to the dwa7 mail templates.

I disabled the program, it was actually on both servers as there was some mail boxes only on the extranet server.

Web Services Platform Architecture: Soap, WSDL, WS-Policy, WS-Addressing, WS-Bpel, WS-Reliable Messaging and More by Francisco Curbera, Frank Leymann, Tony Storey, Donald Ferguson, Sanjiva Weerawarana
Other books claim to present the complete Web services platform architecture, but this is the first one I've seen that really does. The authors have been intimately involved in the creation of the architecture. Who better to write this book?
